Apple Pencil settings

Pressure, pencil-only mode, and double-tap gestures.

What: Fine-tune how Apple Pencil behaves in the annotation editor. When: Stage use where palm rejection or tool switching matters. How: Settings → Apple Pencil Settings → adjust sections below. Tip: Enable pencil-only mode to avoid accidental finger marks.

Pressure sensitivity

Stroke width responds to how hard you press.

How: Turn on → adjust min/max width sliders → test in the preview strip. Tip: Lower minimum width for lighter sketching; raise max for bold accents.

Pencil-only drawing

Block finger input so only the pencil draws.

When: Performing or rehearsing — prevents palm and finger smudges. Tip: Pair with Auto-Enter Annotation Mode for seamless pencil-down editing.

Double-tap gesture

Switch tools with Apple Pencil 2 double-tap.

What: Quickly flip between pencil and eraser (or your chosen tool). How: Enable the switch → choose target from the dropdown. Tip: "Last Used" mirrors ForScore-style tool toggling.
